Billiard Ball Racks

Although it may look beautiful all on its own, that new pool table of yours isn't going to offer much more than that unless you've got the proper accessories to go along with it. Billiard ball racks are among the most important of those accessories to keep your equipment functional and organized, and we've got a great selection of them available at Billiard Factory.

We've been in business since 1975, making us one of the longest-standing pool table experts in the United States — and one of the best places to go to for a superior quality ball rack. In this guide to choosing the right billiard ball rack, we use our knowledge to help you find the exact rack you need for your table.

What to Know Before You Buy

Pool ball racks are fairly simple accessories, but there are a few things you'll want to know about them before you make a purchase.

Different Types of Billiard Ball Racks

There are two main types of billiard ball racks, and they're each used to play their own specific versions of pool.

Triangle Rack

The triangle rack is the most common style of rack. It can be used to play an array of billiard games, including the following:

  • One pocket
  • Snooker
  • Eight-ball
  • Straight pool
  • Bank pool

If you're most interested in playing the most common style of pool, that would be eight-ball, which requires a triangle rack for proper play.

9 Ball Rack

The nine-ball rack is shaped like a diamond. As the name suggests, it allows you to rack up nine balls at once. These racks are used to play the nine-ball style of pool, which uses balls numbered one through nine and requires players to pocket them in order by number.

How to Select the Best Ball Racks for Pool

Billiard ball racks are not necessarily an accessory that requires a huge investment in order to serve you well. Typically, you won't have to pay more than $40 to $50 in order to acquire a nice quality product that looks great and will last you many years.

It's important to keep in mind, though, that opting for the lower-quality options may result in a shorter lifespan for the product. As a result, they can cost you more in the long run.

Because of this, your best bet is to invest a decent amount in a higher-quality option. While the upfront cost may be higher, the superior durability will ultimately make it a more worthwhile investment in due time. Even better is that you can get some really attractive billiard ball racks for just a little extra money.

Equipping your game room with a quality billiard ball rack is crucial, and Billiard Factory can help you do it. We've got some great selections from the following companies, along with many others:
